Introduction

Hi we're Umang and Arjun and this is our first time creating and posting on this website. We are both 12 years old and in 7th grade and are doing this project for English class. I'm Arjun and have gone to this Malaysia school for 5 years, and I enjoy playing basketball, computer games, watching t.v., playing cards and admiring cows. I'm Umang and have gone to this Malaysian school for 3 years, and i enjoy watching movies, playing racing games and doing something on the computer, so this is really interesting for me.

What makes a good story?

A good story is one which has several components, each vital and contributing to (the "greatness", entertainment, flow and so on) the story. Also, it depends on how the story is told, the purpose of the store and why the story is told. It can depend on the type of story genre and the audience it appeals to, for example, if the story is about action but the audience reading the book enjoy mystery, they won't like it as much, but if they enjoy action, then they will like it. Some other facts and things that contribute into making a good story are:

  • A good and interesting plot
  • The main characters and characters are unique and each have a history
  • The genre must be enjoyable and consistent through the book
  • The problem has to have a meaty, interesting and appealing in which it involves all the characters
  • The situation must include many people all trying to overcome them or hinder the others in overcoming them
  • The "good guys" must be the heroes and have a goal in which they are against the villains
  • The "bad guys" must hinder the heroes and have a goal that is evil
  • The moral or lesson learned that impacts the readers
  • Something that will entertain all types of audiences
  • Any other interesting, unusual or enjoyable things in the story
